Large stadiums built at colleges. In 1928, uni of Michigan built a stadium seating 87,000 people.

Spectators attended sporting events in massive numbers. Even more watched on TV. American football and baseball remained the most popular in 1945-80, but basketball and ice Hockey were popular too.
Sports no longer segregated. By the 1970s, most of the main stars were black.
