Nora and Mrs Linde are both women who challenge stereotypes in different ways. Nora, as the wife of a successful banker, occupies a position of relative privilage and is able to use her charm and beauty to manipulate her husband. Mrs Linde, on the other hand has had to navigate more difficult circumstances in her life, including the death of her husband. This made her a more independent and self-reliant figure, unlike Nora, she does not rely on her looks or charms to get what she wants.
