Lesson Development ; 20 minutes

Activity 1: Sorting Needs and Wants (10 minutes):
First divide the class into groups of 5 members. In each group distribute small slips of paper and instruct them to write down different items, one item per cards and indicate whether it is a need or want. After the students are done make them to exchange their sets with another group. Each group should sort the cards into needs and wants.Bring the class back together and discuss the sorting activity, highlighting any items that students found challenging to categorize.


Activity 2: Scenarios for Decision Making (10 minutes):
Present students with many scenarios in which they must choose between needs and wants. For example, give a scenario in which they must choose between purchasing a new toy and saving money for a family vacation. Allow students to share their ideas and reasons behind their choices as a class and discuss each situation. Highlight the effects and choices involved in deciding between needs and wants.

Reflection Journals or Exit Slips (10 minutes):
Distribute individual exit slips to each student. Prompt students to write a short reflection on what they have learned about needs and wants during the lesson. Encourage them to think about how this knowledge can be applied in their own lives. Collect the exit slips for review and use the reflections to inform future instruction.

Extended learning activity

Ask the students to divied the page into two sections labelled "Needs" and "Wants." Instruct students to list five items or things they consider as needs in their lives in the "Needs" section. In the "Wants" section, students should list ten items that they feel are basic necessity.
Note: This activity allows students to reinforce their understanding of needs and wants in a concise and straightforward manner.
