Should we use animals for scientific tests (no)
Hook --->
Its no surprise that animals have different biology than us, so why use them to test our products.
Animal testing has been used as early as the twelfth century, does that mean we have to continue it?
Should animals be enduring pain for our convenience?
Specialized information
animal testing is not completely accurate
so many reasons why animal testing is inhumane
as time has gone on, scientists have found more civilized ways of testing their inventions, and if everyone saw what animal testing does to its victims, it would be clear how inhumane it is.
History & Background --->
Was used as early as Aristotle in 384 – 322 BC
Ibon Zhur, an arab physician from the twelfth century in moorish spain, was one of the first to use testing on animals
Animal testing has gone on for years, going back as early as ancient Greece.
Argument 3# : It's unnecessary
organs-on-chips, organoids, human-based micro dosing
Things listed above are more accurate & efficient than animal testing
scientists have found faster and more efficient ways that dont include animals
Argument 1# : Risk's the safety of humans because of the different biology
expose people to harmful subjects
wastes research resources
As animals have different biology humans might react differently
Argument 2# : It's unethical & bad science
Most of the drugs tested on animals don't work and fail on humans
Animals getting used like they don't feel pain and as lab rats
Intentionally causing animals pain, fear, & loneliness
Thesis
Animal testing should be banned because scientists have found better and more accurate ways to test products and it is unnecessary now.
