the leaders of te rebellion were supported by germany
15 leaders were wxwcuted
A war of attrition
the first world war was a war of attrition, which meant that every opponent's objective was to wear down the enemy on soldiers and resources.
a clear example is the battle of somme fought in 1926, one of the bloodiest in british history
germany tried to cut the supplies sent by the usa by sanking an english passanger killing also128 americans
even after the protests from the us president germany started sanking american ships again wich brought the us to join the war on england side in 1917
on the italian front the italian army collapsed in the batle of caporetto
the situation wasn't much better in austria that had an incredible amount of mass surrenders and disertions
the war was foughht in trenches, where the soldiers retreated, behind barbed wire. machine gas, poison gas and tanks were used for the first time
because of the low hygien, continues explosions and the fear of toxic gas life in th trenches had some terrible effects on the soldiers psyche
these effects were called shellshock, and it was due to the intense stress soldiers were under
The end of the war after a massive attack on the western front, the germans were forced to retreat and the 4 october 1918 germany asked for an armistice,
the 11th of november the war was finally over and that day is now called armistice day or poppy's day because poppy's the only flower who could grow on battlefields
