Beyond the red
A scientist in 1977 was examining the spectrum of the sun he placed a thermometer at different points in the spectrum. He observed that red had the highest temperature but the temperature kept rising beyond red and discovered an invisible radiation.

Another scientist in 1801 used the sun's spectrum so he directed the sun's spectrum onto a silver chloride soaked paper and discovered another radiation.
