Clearance fit
In a clearance fit, there would still be an allowance for two parts to move, such as in a door hinge.
Interference fit
Two parts are tightly joined, making it difficult to move or remove them. Examples include shafts fitted through bearings to prevent slipping.
Type of joints
-
Revolute join: A joint that allows rotational movement around a fixed axis, like a hinge.
Slider join: A type of joint that allows straight(linear) movement along a fixed path, like a sliding motion.
Cylinder join: That involves a cylindrical connection or fit between two parts, which allow rotational movement along the axis of the cylinder.
Pin Slot Join: Where a pin or rod is inserted into a slot or groove, allowing for limited movement or alignment between two parts.
Planar join: A type of join where two flat surfaces or planes are connected together to create a stable and rigid connection.
Ball join: Using a spherical connection to join two pieces, a ball joint enables a wide range of rotational movement in several directions.

tolerances
Tolerances help ensure that parts fit together correctly, function properly, and meet the required standards or specifications. It also helps to reduce errors in manufacturing.
3 Type of Tolerances
Bilateral Tolerance: allowed to change from the specified dimension in two directions. The difference between the two directions need not be equal.
