With how easy it is to send information to the entire world, it becomes increasingly difficult to control the flow of information. There could be blatantly false information that no one can disprove.

Products can now be shipped around the world due to the ease of transportation. This stimulates the economy and encourages countries to import and export more products.

Since people are travelling a lot more now, different cultures can now be experienced almost everywhere. This can range from food to clothing.

Spreading information becomes much easier with the internet and social media. News reporters can now notify the world whenever something happens.

Jobs
Some of the less fortunate people can now haul cargo/drive ships as a job and try to gain money from that.
Convienience
Since transportation is so convienient right now, you can enjoy things from a variety of countries without even leaving your city.

Development: Since we are developing at a substantially faster pace than before, there have been large breakthroughs in both physical and virtual technology. This makes it much easier to send things around the world. Things like information, food, can all be transported efficiently.
