Environmental problems
Global warming is becoming a bigger issue every year.
This causes a lot of other problems.
The Earth is heating up. The tempretaure is higher than it was 100 years ago.
We burn fossil fuels. These give off greenhouse gases, like carbon di-oxide. This causes global warming too.
We cut down forests but they are important for creating oxygen and also for natural habitats.
Plants and animal species are dying out.
Sea levels are rising and polar ice caps are melting.
We need to change a lot of things to slow global warming.
Governments should develop alternative energy sources.
There should be more solar power panels and wind power plants.
We must change the way we live however difficult it is.
We should save energy by insulating the house, turning off lights and saving water.
We should turn off the tap when we wash our hands, and take a shower instead of a bath.
We should collect rain water and water the plants with it.
We should collect waste selectively: paper, cardboard, glass bottles and jars, plastic and can. We can use kitchen waste in the garden compost too.
We should recycle or reuse whatever we can.
We should say no to fast fashion.
We shouldn't leave litter around but pick it up.
You can reduce pollution if you walk or cycle or take the public transport instead of driving.
