Measuring time
Stopclocks
You find the time by looking at where the hands are pointing on the scale.
Stopwatches
Gives a direct reading of the time in numerals.
Electronic timer
Pendulum
A weight called a "bob", hangs on the end of a string.

is called Period
Measuring length
Using a ruler
Micrometer screw gauge
To measure very small distances
Such as the thickness of a wire.
Precise measurements
Has two scales
The fractional scale
The main scale
Measuring volume
Volume of irregular shapes
Through displacement
Select a measuring cylinder that is about three of four times larger than the object. Note the volume of the object.
Then immerse the object in the water. The level of water in the cylinder will increase in its volume is equal the the volume of the object.
Volume of regular shapes
example a rectangle
Measure the lengths of the three different sides and multiply them together.
Density
Definition
The ratio of mass volume for a substance
Formula
Density= mass divided by volume
unit
Kilograms per cubic meter
Kilograms per cubic decimeter
Grams per cubic centimeter
