He had no interest in computers and internet . He had a reluctance to use calculators since childhood. He liked to do mathematical calculations. So he did not like the use of computer. The root cause of this dislike is, of course, redundancy. He used to say that computers do not work for him.
In 1971, he wrote a letter to the Prime Minister of Britain and asked him to take initiative to stop the attack of Pakistani forces in Bangladesh.
He also encouraged all the students who are studying abroad to return home after completing their studies.
Established Bangladeshi writer and teacher Muhammad Zafar Iqbal contacted Jamal Nazrul Islam before returning home. Islam immediately encouraged him to return home.
In 2001, there was a rumor that the world was going to end. This rumor also spread in Bangladesh. At that time, Jamal Nazrul Islam showed by mathematical calculations that there is no such possibility. Because, even if all the planets of the solar system move along a straight line according to natural rules , there will be no damage to the earth due to its effect
He was also a fan of Rabindra and Nazrul Sangeet. He was good-natured and humorous in conversation. He used to hold ghazal sessions at his home Besides, he had a special interest in Rabindra and Nazrul Sangeet
Professor Jamal Nazrul Islam has tried to understand the mystery of creation by following the path shown by Einstein with deep devotion. The evidence of success in this research is his books
Islam obtained his PhD in applied mathematics and theoretical physics from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1968
