Mechanism of action
After oral administration, both diastereomers are rapidly converted to ganciclovir by intestinal and hepatic esterases.
Indications
For prevention of CMV disease in CMV-negative adults and children (from birth to 18 years) who have received a solid organ transplant from a CMV-positive donor.
