Famciclovir
Mechanism of action
Famciclovir first converts into it's active antiviral agent, ganciclovir. The viral thymine kinase present in cells infected with HSV-1, HSV 2 and varicella-zoster virus, phosphorylates ganciclovir to a monophosphate form.
