Emmett Till
Emmett Till was born in 1941, and traveled to Mississippi in 1955 to visit family. He was accused of assaulting a white woman who was a cashier. In 1955, four days later, he was violently beaten and shot in the head. Afterwards, his body was unrecognizable except for a family ring he was wearing on his finger.
