'APaND' contained 14 homilies for parish priests to teach their congregations of the basics of Catholic doctrine

The reason for the lack of success in religious policy may be due to the fact that money and finance were issues.
An example of this is the fact that Pole needed to audit accounts / parishes but it took 3 years (1557) to see how much money he had to reform.
- By 1558, he had died showing how cost became a hurdle for Cardinal Pole and his need for reform
It can be said that the financial problems that were encountered led to more draconian policies: censorship and execution of heretics
