Beginning
Act 1 Scene 1 - Macbeth kills the previous thane of Cawdor who was a traitor to king Duncan. This is ironic as Macbeth betrays king Duncan and is later on murdered by Macduff.
Act 1 Scene 2 - Ross arrives from fife with news of victory as the Norwegian King is pleading for a peace treaty. King Duncan informs Ross to greet Macbeth with the former thane of Cawdor's title.
Act 1 Scene 3 - The three witches arrive after the battle and cast a spell as Macbeth and Banquo arrive. Banquo and Macbeth are weary as they are suspicious of the three witches.
Act 1 Scene 4 - King Duncan is informed of the previous thane of Cawdor's noble executioner, He then meets with Banquo and Macbeth and thanks them for their loyal and brave service and Banquo and Macbeth pledge their loyalty to Duncan. This is ironic because Macbeth goes on to murder Duncan later on in the play.
Act 1 Scene 5 - Macbeth sends a letter to his wife Lady Macbeth informing her of his encounter with the witches and the three prophecies given to him. In which Lady Macbeth responds by saying that Macbeth is to feminine for the throne.
Act 2 Scene 1 - Macbeth and Banquo made an agreement to not think of the three witches but if they do they are to tell each other, Banquo comes clean to Macbeth revealing that he had a dream about the witches however Macbeth lies to Banquo claiming that he has not thought of them.
Act 2 Scene 2 - Macbeth murders Duncan but returns to Lady Macbeth with the dagger he used to kill Duncan and refuses to go back and plant the dagger in which Lady Macbeth has to take control and plant the daggers at the scene of Duncan's death.
Act 2 Scene 3 - Macbeth shows Macduff to King Duncan's chambers where Macduff discovers Duncan's murder, Macbeth then kills the servants in a fit of rage. (this symbolises that Macbeth is now prepared to do what he must to become King.), Macbeth almost reveals his knowledge of Duncan's death causing everybody to be suspicious in which Lady Macbeth has to pretend to faint. (Revealing Macbeth is easily manipulated).
Act 2 Scene 4 - Macduff arrives to inform Ross that he believes that the guards believed to have murdered Duncan were hired by Duncan's son's Malcolm and Donaldbain.
