Dorian Gray is a rich young man. He was a portrait of himself made by Basil Hallward
Dorian makes a pledge: he will sacrifice his soul if he can maintain his youth and beauty forever
Dorian leads a hedonistic life of pleasure, sin, crime and corruption
His physical appareance remains young and beautiful and portrait becomes old and ugly
At the end Dorian stabs the portrait and kills himself.
