Lost Boys: taken in by the gang members of the city to become loopers and kill time travelers/rainmakers

Joe: he was given up by his family (mother), which forced him to become a looper and kill people. If his mom hadn't gave him up he might've had a better path later in life.

Sara: she gave up her child to her sister but realized he was too dangerous and took him back. Maybe if she had kept Sid he would've had controlled his TK better.

Sara's pure motherly love for her kid was able to calm him down so he can control his TK powers.

Lost Boys: given up by family or doesn't have one, not cared for

Children who have love and support from their families have less of a change of becoming criminals (rainmakers, tk, gat men, loopers)

If Cid is raised by a mother who loves him, he'll do good with his powers instead of harming people with them
