The British government needed strong young men to work in the colonies
so they sent convicts to Australia to farm and build
This work including 165.000 convicts
When they arrived in Australia
They work long hours without any free times
And there wasn't enough food
If the convicts behaved well, they could be free
After World War II welcomed
thosands and refugees
The immigration to New Zeland
started because the first British immigrations didn't reachNew Zealand until 1840
in New Zealand there was Maoris
They were a immigrations from Polynesia
There were a war of Maoris and British
But this war didn't stop the emigrations so by 1860 100.000 British settlers because the land was good for farming and there was gold there
the GreatBarrier Reef
is one of the wonders of the natural world
in 1981 it became a UNESCO World Site
Is in the Coral Sea
it's the world's largest coral reef
Tiny sea animals form coral and this is about 500.000 years old
The Great Barrier Reef is incredibly beautiful but it is also home to some of the most dangerous creatures
Is important because
they protect the coast from big waves
provide food for people
components of new medicines
The Great Barrier Reef are fragile
The temperature of the sea is rising and this destroys coral
