        Any potentially contaminated surfaces (e.g. tables, exercise equipment) should be wiped down with hospital grade disinfectant.
        
        People with CF should avoid sharing confined spaces (e.g. rooms, cars).
        
        People with CF should be kept separated from other individuals with CF both in the inpatient and outpatient setting to prevent cross infection.

        Avoid completing Airway clearance in proximity of others with CF
        
        Dispose of sputum pots daily
        
        Do not share equipment
        
        Use bacterial/viral filters on shared equipment
        
        Abide by single patient use devices
      - Microbiological surveillance
        
        Surveillance of micro-organisms in sputum and precautions taken
        
        Apply high level of caution if unknown organism maybe present.
        
        Provide education on sputum specimens to improve surveillance

        Staff at risk of illness seek medical advice.

        Always ensure appropriate and thorough cleaning of equipment to reduce the risk of contaminated pathogens. Follow manufacturer recommendations.
