Possitive applications
Helps in hospitals, adoption centres etc, to help to limit effects of maternal deprivation .Eg. Helping to limit time apart from caregivers in hospital, reducing the amount of time in care before being adopted (used to wait until children were older)
If monotropic relationship is disrupted within the first 2 years of a person's life, they will go on th experience the consequences of maternal deprivation
Bowlby looks at physical deprevation not emotional. Mothers can be physically there doesn't mean that she not emotionallly distant and if mother isn't there physically doesn't mean that she doesn't love child
