Adaptive radiation in reptiles: Adaptive radiation in reptiles occurred between the Permian and Cretaceous eras. They ruled over the land in the Mesozoic era, which is also referred to as the “Age of Reptiles”.
Some of them like Pterosaurs became aerial, the Ichthyosaurs and Plesiosaurs were aquatic. Amphibious were the Sauropod Dinosaurs. Cursorial adaptation was exhibited by many dinosaurs. It is assumed that some of the mexozoic reptiles became adapted to fossorial and arboreal life.
