Cities were named after Stalin, e,g. 'Stalinsk'.

In March 1938, Nikolai Bukharin and Genrikh Yagoda were accused of plotting to assassinate Lenin and Stalin in the third show trial
In January 1937, 13 Bolsheviks were executed and the rest were sent to the gulags for 10 years in the second show trial
Zinoviev and Kamenev were executed in the first show trial after being tried for the assassination of Sergei Kirov in August 1936
