5 stages of design thinking
Empathises
WHY
Able to understand the perspective of the users so that we are to design something that they need
WHAT
able to understand the users' needs. within the context of the design
HOW
Interview
In order to conduct a good and beneficial interview, first, we do not judge others. Second, do not rush the interview. Lastly, try to ask why as you may get to know more answers, and this will help you to improve your designs.
By having better facial expression (like smiling), tone of speaking (sound sincere and not feel annoyed) helps the person that you're interviewing to feel comfortable.
Do not ask a yes or no question, have more specific questions
Empathy Immersion
Have the thinking that you are the users yourself what would you feel about the design and the problems you're facing when using the design
Observe
By observing we are able to know what to look out for and the type of users that we are designing for
Define
WHAT
Is to be able to think about your design after getting to understand from the users.
To gather all the information and make into a design that your user needs
HOW
Provide focus and solve the problems
Inspires your team.
WHY
So that to be able to create something helpful and useful from the point of view of the user when he or she is using it
Ideate
WHY
To allow you to identify the problems to create solutions for your users
Having more draft of designs, you are able to get few pieces of ideas you get from your designs that way you are able to improve your final design as well.
HOW
Brainstorm
Sketch storm
Bodystorm
Do mind mapping
Prototyping
WHAT
Able to think lots of draft of your design but it's not the final design.
Prototype
WHY
To start a conversation
To be able to think of other possibilities.
To think and resolve the problems.
To think in detailed
HOW
Build with the perspective of the user.
Start building
Do not spend so much time just for one prototype
WHAT
Prototype is when you have lots of ideas and exploration in your head. During the early stage, you will have a simple thinking that your design looks simple and is just a sketch design to let others giving you feedback.
But during the late stage, you design will look more advanced, and function will be improved.
Test
WHY
Able to see the reaction of the users while using the prototype
Testing shows if the prototype helps the users needs
Iterate and improve the prototype
HOW
Allow users to talk about what feel and experience when using the prototype
Ask more questions about the prototype
Show to the user and not explain more about the prototype.
WHAT
Able to receive feedback from users and get to even know them better .
Able to improve your design when getting feedbacks
