Reproductive Coercion (RC)
Birth control sabotage, pregnancy coercion, childbearing motivations, RC
RC was rare amongst the sample. 4 individuals pressured their partner to become pregnant. 3 pressured to have sex w/o a condom. 3 reported telling their partner not to be on any BC. 2 reported taking the condom off during sex.
Entrapment
12 individuals did this to their partners, females do this to their partners. This disempowers men due to the rational they have to be with their child.

What is the author's purpose?
Dr. Kamila Alexander
Childbearing motivations from black men may have negative health outcomes for unwanted pregnancies in black women.
Do I agree with the author?
I do agree that these ideals for wanting/having a child is 100% negative for women in the grand scheme of things. The negative ideals these men have presented in this case analysis disadvantage women in their personal lives. As stated in class previously, women are always under men, and black women are under everybody.
Black individuals arent the only victims of this story; it happens in all other racial identities. Looking at the SDH, black individuals are set at a disadvantage with or without kids, so succeeding in life will be very hard for these mothers. Considering we don't know what the father does, the child might not be able to succeed too much, either.
Women can also RC, it's not just a "mans game." As i stated in class a lot of men fear being trapped or coerced into having a child/life they dont want. Its just not very represented and the blame is placed on the the father, which is also tied to patriarchal ideals.
