In 1918 the Representation of the People Act gave women aged 30 or above the right to vote if either they or their husbands had an income of 5 pounds.
In 1928 the right was extended to all women over 21 years of age, no matter what their income was.
The first country in the world to extend the right to vote for women over 21 years of age was New Zeland in 1893
The first European country was Finlandia in 1906, followed by Denmark in 1908
In 1965 in the USA, all women, irrespective of their skin colour or origin could finally vote
In 2015, Sauda Arabia was last country where women obtained the right to vote, but only municipal elections and haven't obtained total emancipation yet
On 8th March 1908, one hundred and twenty-nine women died in a fire. they had been protesting against low wages and abuses. As a resul of this event, in 1977 the UN declared March 8 to be international Women's day
