unstructed interviews - they can ask any types off person questions can take any length of time

reliable - can be represented else where
practical - time consuming, struggle to get accused of people who are doing it, struggle to get access to people who want to do it and it can be quite expensive to train staff but can also be cheap if they are already trained (postivtivr or negative)
