        Initial costs are high, energy demand can be easily met, water has to be stored in a flooded valley (environmental damage)
        
        Can be made from farm waste, animal droppings, landfill rubbish and specially grown crops. They release pollutants depending on the fuel. Making the fuels can be expensive.

- - - - Burning fuel creates lots of heat. Water in the boiler is turned to steam. It has a high pressure so it rushes into the turbine which will spin a generator providing electricity for the national grid.
        
        The steam ha lost a lot of its energy now but it may need to be cooled in a cooling tower before being fed back into the boiler

      - Very complex, expensive and time consuming to build. Produces harmful nuclear waste that i difficult to dispose of .

        Coal and Oil also produce other harmful chemicals like sulfur dioxide, causing acid rain.
