        Interstate Commerce Act 1887, established that fed govt controls & regulates interstate commerce, then creates Interstate Commerce Commission to enforce that law and listen to farmers cases
        
        Munn V. Illinois 1877: state has right to regulate RR rates - victory for farmers
        
        Wabash V. Illinois 1886 - reverses Munn, prohibits states from regulating RR
    - - perfects vertical integration, system from top to bottom every single step dominated by steel, makes a fortune utilizing vertical integration
      - Gospel of Wealth 1889 - pay wealth forward, wealth are responsible to provide opportunities for others
    - - horizontal integration - one aspect of the industry dominated by the one corporation, everyone will have to deal with Rockefeller in some way
