Inheritance patterns
Simple- These involve simple dominant/recessive patterns,
Sex-linked (x-linked)- Sex or X linked refer to genes that are only found on the X chromosome,
Codominance/Incomplete dominance- These involve genes that are expressed and can both contribute to the organism
Lethal genes- Can be dominant or recessive, and in both cases the organism dies because of the genotype
-
Mendels 3 laws
-
Law of Segregation-Genes are inherited in pairs. Parental genes randomly separated to the sex cells so that sex cells contain only one gene of the pair.
Law of Independent Assortment-Genes for different traits are sorted separately from one another so inheritance of one trait is not dependent on the inheritance of another
