The Circulatory System
Heart and vessels
Heart is made up of muscle cells that contantly contract. Blood travels through vessels.
Blood
Blood contains red blood cells, platelets, and white blood cells.
Immunity
Immunity - The resistance to specific pathogens, or disease causing agents.
The Respiratory System
Pharynx and Trachea
Pharnynx is in the throat, Trachea is a bone connects the pharynx to the bronchi.
Bronchi and Alveoli
There are two Bronchi one enters the lungs and one leave the lungs. There are more than 100 million alveoli in a lung.
The Lymphatic system
Lymphocyte - A type of whit ebllod cell that is made in the thymus.
Types of Disease
Two main groups of diseases
Infectious diseases are contagious.
Noninfectious can't be passed on.
Lines of Defense
The first line of defense is Skin and mucus. Second its the immune response. Third is antibodies.
Digestion and Excreation
The Digestive System
Absorption - When the food and water turns into a soup by the small intestine then gets turned into bile by the liver and then the food and water are absorbed in to the blood.
Excretion - The colon recipes any particles that did not get absorbed during absorption and absorbs any water. The smaller intestends take small food particles and the rest go out of our bums.
Nutrition
Nutrients - are the parts of food used by the body to grow and survive.
Calorie - is the amount of energy it takes to raise the temperature of 1kg of water by 1ºC
The Excretory System
The Excretory system removes solid, liquid and gas waste materials from the body.
The Body's Organization
Organ systems - Groups of organs that work together and perform a specific task
Homeoatasis - Work together to maintain or steady internal condition when external conditions change.
