After more and more investigating, Christophers father sees how passionate he is about finding out who killed Wellington, so he told him the truth. He did it. This information also threw Christopher for a loop, causing him to now be frightened of his father. Christopher has to now formulate a plan to travel to London so he can llive safely with his mother. Christopher had never traveled, especially not alone, so this journey was one he would not forget. While he is traveling in the train station and on the train, his mind becomes jumbled with all of the information he is being surrounded by. He uses his own unique coping skills to keep is feeling of safety in check.
After lots of traveling, math problems and talks with police officers, Christopher finally makes it to London where he meets his mother, feeling happy again. His father reintroduces himself in the family, and although their trust is not 100% yet, it was on its way there.
