Definition
Group of conditions arising from marrow stem cells and characterized by clonal proliferation of one or more hemopoietic components in the bone marrow, the liver and spleen.

Definition

JAK2 Mutation present
Bone marrow hypercellular with trilineage growth
Serum erythropoitein low
Plasma urate increased with LDH normal or slightly raised
Chromosome abnormalities (TET-2)
Chronic Myeloid leukemia
Clinical features
Symptoms related to hypermetabolism. Weight loss, lassitude, anorexia or night sweats
Splenomegaly
Features of anemia like pallor, dyspnoea and tachycardia
Bruising
Epistaxis
Menorrhagia
Gout
Visual disturbances and priapism rarely
