Cheer - Fred, his nephew shows true Christmas cheer and asks him to celebrate it with him but Scrooge refuses
Happiness - Shown by the other characters, not by Scrooge. :
In Stave 2, Scrooge is shown Christmas spirit through the portrayal of a Christmas party hosted by Mr. Fezziwig.
In Stave 4 - We see how generosity brings Scrooge into a different light as he has more happiness than all his money could give.
Redemption
Scrooge is shows redemption by being a man who is transformed from a greedy, selfish man into a generous and good-natured citizen.
This is shown in the book by the ghosts that visit him and is redeemed by his own willingness to change.
In stave 5, Scrooge sends a huge turkey to Bob Cratchits family and gives him a pay rais.
In stave 1, we know Scrooge as a greedy man with a love of money and who doesnt care for anybody but himself.

Social injustice
scrooge refuses to give money to the poor, how he is full of ignorance and want.
His behaviour as an alarmistic and cruel employer and his behaviour towards anyone who he should love (Fred and Belle as examples).
Dickens saw the need for the reform of English society; he urged that the wealthy and privileged exhibit a greater humanitarianism towards the poor and the vulnerable.

He goes from being rich in money; miserable, selfish and unhappy to slightly less rich but with a new wealth of happiness.

in stave 1 scrooge is immediately presented about as an unpleasant character who is completely obsessed with making money.
The biggest theme in the story is the Christmas spirit, it gives us incite into what Victorian life was like.
