Collision theory - Coggle Diagram
Collision theory
Examples
- A gas molecule collides with a wall in a container.
- Gas molecule collides with another gas molecule
- A gas molecule collides with a liquid molecule
- A gas molecule can collide with a solid molecule
Principles
Rules: Particles must collide, sufficient energy, correct orientation
-
-
Limitations
There are limitations to collision theory, this theory is only applicable to simple gaseous molecules and Collision theory does not explain activation barriers. This theory does not apply to reversible reactions.
