"Dad kept telling me to hurry up and dressed, which just stressed me out even more, and suddenly I started crying. I just wanted stay home." (page 109)
I infer that since August gather more attention from parents, Via felt upset but don't really show her emotion. That's because Via knows that August is not ordinary.
"August is the Sun. Me and Mom and Dad are planets orbiting the Sun." (page 82)
This shows how the family structure planned in Via's perspective. Via felt like August is in the center and Mom and Dad and Via is orbiting that means helping around August.
"I've never asked for help with my homework. Never needed reminding to finish a project or study for test. If I was having trouble with a subject in school. I'd go home and study it until figured it out on my myself." (page 83)
This shows how Via has grown by herself, and she is not saying or complaining anything. So I can infer that she is really care and understand August my different way as their parents. Also, she is wishing her parents to give more attention. For instance, asking how was your day today like they usually do to Auggie.

"No, Mom!" I said quickly. "You pick me up. Or I'll just take the subway."
"You know I don't want you to take the subway by yourself yet," she answered.
This showed that Via's mo sometimes protecting Via. However, at the end Via's mom let Via went to take the subway anyways. At least, she ask and block Via from taking the subway.
"So Dad took August to school that morning and Mom said I could stay home, and the two of us cried together for a while." pg. 109
This shows that Via's mom us caring about Via's feeling and understand how she felt. That why Via's mom let Via stay home to feels better.
"Oh, he's fine," she said, wrapping her arms around me. (pg.99)
This shows that Via's mom noticed that Via had been worried about Auggie. This is the direct action that her mom wraps her arms around Via and actually shows how she loves, cares, and understands Via more than anyone else.

"I've always understood that August is special and has special needs. If I was playing too loudly and he was trying to take a nap, I knew I would have to play something else because he needed his rest after some procedure or other had left him weak and in pain." (pg 82)
Via understands her parents that they are not biased; Via herself, also thinks that August needs extra care and needs from their parents.
"But he has many angels looking out for him already, Via."
(pg 87)
... I understood her.
Since Via is saying that I understood her, it shows that Via is feeling the same way as Via's grandmother. Via's grandmother understands that even though Via needs extra help, Via is letting August to have more attention.
Mom took his temperature, brought him some hot tea, and assumed the "August's mom" role again. "Via's mom," who had come out for a little while, was put away. I understood, though (pg 110)
I could infer that Via felt little disappointed from her tone. Even though she wanted to enjoy her time with her mother, Via understood that August needs more help.
