Camouflage
Green-eyed tree frog - developed flaps of textured skin around its body to resemble the barks of trees
Leaf-tailed gecko - have skin similar to tree bark covered with moss
Mimicry
Katydid - appears like a stinging wasp and also behaves like it
Limited diet
Toucans - only consume fruits that other animal and even bird species cannot access
Leaf-cutter ants - they carry pieces of leaves from the high trees to their habitats underground
Poison
Poision dart frogs - the bright colors indicate to predators that they need to stay away or they will be poisoned
Lobster moths - look like venomous scorpions during their larval stage
Reduction of size/stature
Jaguar - only grows less than six feet long and weighs just about 200 pounds
Snakes - grow larger than anywhere else because they can fit in the spaces between trees and underground
Nocturnal
Bearded pig - hunting at night reduces competition
