Texts in which the reader can select between options such as multiple answer tests

Texts in which the reader interacts with it such as recipes.

Texts that are more complex and need special attention in comprehension such as letters.

Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory & Learning Styles

Kolbs divide his theory in two parts
Stages of learning:
Abstract conceptualization:
The learned reflects on the experiences and makes conclusions, moves from observation to abstract conceptualisation.
Active experimentation:
Learners apply their conclusions into experiences.
Concrete experience:
Kolb believed that the key to learning is involvement. Learners must need to be engaged in the learning process
Reflective observation
: In this stage the learned is able to ask questions and experiences with others
Learning styles
Assimilating
: People who use this style enjoy doing experiments and working on projects from start to the end.
Converging:
People who use this style have the skills to make decisions and create ideas in which they apply into new experiences.
Diverging:
People who use this style enjoy tasks like working in groups and brainstorming.
Accommodating:
People who use this style have amazing people skills and they prefer to discover the answers by themselves.
