MILITARY TACTICS
CONCLUSIONS
the North Vietnamese's superior military tactics put political pressure on the US leadership as it continued the US ground troops' commitment to the war, increasing domestic opposition
whilst the US bombing campaigns were brutal and destroyed much Vietnamese infrastructure this created as much SV enmity as it weakened the NV ability to fight US
if the US had been winning the fighting on the ground, the political decisions would have been easier - the maintenance of the NV resistance despite the technological gap between the nations indicated that the war was unwinnable, even with the increase in troops from 1965-1968
