Buy or Swap debate (1ère BouPat)
Defending Shops and shopping (Mathilda, Chloé, Manoel, Sacha, Thibault)
Ideas :
Chloé : In shops, you can return and exchange products to buy another product.
Manoel : Clothes in swap parties may be faulty (défectueux)
Thibault : shopping is for French economy and creators
Thibault :
Mathilda : Ok, but I have a question : is the access to shopping in shops easier than for second hand ?
Sacha : It's not safe and there are fake brands
Defeding swapping and second hand (Alan, Ethan, Jean-Marin, Samuel, Mathieu)
Ideas :
Samuel : Some brands encourage minorities to create clothes for less money.
Alan : You can make money selling your old clothes
Ethan : It's less expensive than shopping
Mathieu : If you want to buy a 2nd hand t shirt, it's better to buy on Vinted in France rather than in Asia for example. It's closer to your home.
JM : In our opinion, buying old clothes is better : it gives a second life to clothes
Ethan : With Emmaus, you can give clothes to poor people.
Answers from Shopping Team :
Manoel : The second hand clothes that are sold
are made by children
Sacha : When you sell your clothes, they travel, so it's not economic
Sacha : But in shops, there are sales to buy cheaper
Sacha : Shops buy a lot clothes, in a huge quantity and not only one piece of clothing
Manoel : It's not good quality, in swap parties clothes may be faulty
Manoel : When you buy clothes the first time, it travels once, then when you sell the clothes, they travail again. So the clothes travel twice as much
Answers from Swapping Team :
JM : Zara is a shop, the products come from Asia, so the products have to take a plane and travel ect... But the Vinted package only travels through the post.
Samuel : When you order 2nd hand clothes, you recieve the package by the post, so if you don't order any clothes, the post delivers other letters, so travel costs don't change.
JM : Prices during sales, they raise the prices and then take them down during sales.
JM : Samuel : There are second hand shops, like Emmaus, so the access is easy too.
