The North-West Resistance
Metis people came from the Red River Settlement and started new communities in the South branch
Established themselves here by working in the fur trade and farming
The buffalo populations were still continuing to decline, due to overhunting
Surveyors had land and speculators arrived the metis wanted to be recognized for the settlements established.
Metis sent petitions for corrections from the issues coming from the government but they ignored them.
