Types of testing
Concept testing
Using surveys to evaluate consumer acceptance of a new product idea before the introduction of the product to the market.
Usability testing
A technique used in user-centered interaction design to evaluate a product by testing it on users. Gives direct input on how users use the system
Stress testing
An analysis or simulation designed to determine the ability of a given financial instrument or financial institution to deal with an economic crisis
Penetration testing
Authorised simulated cyberattack on a computer system performed to evaluate the security of the system, this is not to be confused with a vulnerability assessment
Black box testing
A method of software testing that examines the functionality of an application without peering into its internal structures or workings. Can be applied virtually to every level of software testing
White box testing
A method of software testing that tests internal structures or workings of an application as opposed to its functionality. An internal perspective of the system is used to design test cases
Fishbone Diagrams

Root Cause Analysis

The process of discovering the root causes of problems in order to identify appropriate solutions. Using this to evaluate concerns or incidents helps you to achieve the objective of what happened, how it happened, why it happened and how to stop it happening again.
