- A virtue is a settled, purposive disposition, located in the mean (golden mean) and being determined by right reason

Key Terms - Golden Mean
- Virtues lie between 2 extremes - the excess + deficiency
- E.g. courage lies in the golden mean (midpoint) between cowardice (deficiency) and recklessness (excess)
