Introduction
Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection that can spread throughout the body, affecting many organs.
•Without prompt treatment, it can cause serious complications and can be fatal.
• It's caused by a bacterium called Salmonella typhi, which is related to the bacteria that causes salmonella food poisoning.

Pathophysiology
ingestion
passes through gastric acidity
Multiples in the small intestines
Causes mucosal lining penetrating ultimately leading to minimal epithelial damage
Goes into the intestinal lymphatics
to the thoracic duct into the bloodstream
then to the spleen liver reticulo endothelial system
intracellular multiplication occurs
reenters the bloodstream
then reenters intestines via bile
