INSTALLATION OF SHEET PILES https://youtu.be/fcd8ng3Z-w8
- Pre-dig up to 1.0m in depth along the line of the sheet pile. Dig to the extent of the sheet pile perimeter.
- Build the frames inside the excavation using an excavator to lower each bracing component and connect with pins. r-clips. and bolted-together endplates.
- This frame can serve as a guide for installing the sheets and should be roughly pumped out to the required scale.
- Remove the bucket from the excavator and connect the EMV to the excavator quick hatch mechanism.
- The first sheet to be driven should be one of the corner sheets if an interlocking sheet frame with corner piles is required.
- The corner sheet piles can be driven together after being welded to the respective sheet piles.
- When the EMV is in use, pick up the pile using its lower jaws or clamps, set it on the excavator tracks, side-clamp the sheet, and lift it in preparation for pitching.
- The sheet now can be raised over the excavation and placed it in proper position for driving. With a spirit level, a worker should verify the sheet's alignment.
- Drive the corner sheet down a third of the way. Reclamp the Vibro-hammer further up the sheet if necessary to give it room to drive.
- Using a spirit level, verify that the sheet is vertically level. if the sheet is not vertically aligned, remove the stack and straighten it.
- It is important to stick to the design specifications when pre-driving the sheets and to drive them around the excavations perimeter in a specific order.
- Repeat the process with the remaining sheets.
- In order to make installing adjacent piles easier, it is common to install all the sheets at once to 1.0m above ground level. Once the line is finished, the piles can be driven to their final level.
- The top frame should be pumped up aginst the sheet to the recommended pre-load.
- Around the excavation, fasten the restraining chain every 3.0m between the upper frame, and corner sheets.
- Install ladder and edge safe to provide a secure way to enter the excavation after digging.
- Dig to the second brace system level specified in the design using an excavator. While excavating the edges can be removed frome the side of the excavation.
- Put the lower frame together by lowering the braced legs into the excavation. They can be joined together using r-clips and pins
- The sheets now can be pressured by pumping out the lower frame.
- Around the excavation, attach restaint chain between the two frames that are 3,0m apart.
- Repeat the digging process to formation level.
