Reformation parliament sat for unprecedented 7 years - increased financial and legal power of parliament as it legislated on religious affairs

CONCLUSIONS
despite the increased powers of Parliament to legislate on church affairs, it was still wholly dependent on the king for its power - Royal Summons and statute law
The Break with Rome turned England into an independent sovereign state without outside authority - fundamental change in political makeup of England
