rapid economic growth
more land is needed for commercial activities
more resources are used and produce more pollutants

develop new towns and NDAs
to provide more land for building houses, the government has developed nine new towns and it is developing New Development areas in recent years
NDAs provides a pleasant and lesss crowded living environment and extensive open space and a wide range of community facilities

control the growth of private cars

develop public transport
promote electric cars
promote energy saving
solving water pollution
the government has imposed sewage charges pn households
solving noise pollution
build noise barriers
adopt a low noise road surface
pass laws to control construction noise
solving solid waste pollution
use measures to reduce wastes
solving light pollution
the government is encouraging owners of the outdoor lighting to turn off the lights between 11p.m. and 7 a.m.
