Anatomy of female reproductive structures
Located within the pelvis and consists of the vulva, vagina, the cervix, the uterus, the Fallopian tubes and ovaries
vulva is referring to external genitalia
anatomy of male reproductive structures
Organs included are: penis, scrotum, and testicles.
Internal organs are vas deferens, prostate, and uthera
responsible for sexual function and urination

Gonads
Male: testes; female: ovaries

Male: pollen; female: oogenesis

Male: sperm; Female: ova egg cells
when are gametes made?
Male: during spermatogenesis; Female: during embryo development
when are gametes released?
Male: about age 12; Female: present at birth

Males: cell divides into two clones of self; Female: diploid cells have two complete sets of chromosomes

Male: cell division into clones; Female: producing eggs

Males: Testosterone key development to re productivity; Females: estrogen sex hormones for puberty

Male: size, smaller than egg ribosomes, sertoli cell provides nutrition to sperm; Female: size, larger than sperm, 23 chromosomes, embedded with fluids and moves to Fallopian tube

syphilis
STI caused by direct contact with infection. Causes sores around genitals or mouth.

Caused by simplex virus. With mild or painful sores

Common STD that effects both genders, Causes abdominal and vagina; discharge or burning when urinating

STI that effects rectum and throat, causes swollen testicles or burning while urinating
Hepatitus
HAV, HBV, HCV. causes loss of appetite or dark urine
trichomoniasis
Commonly sexually transmitted disease caused by parasite. 70% of people dont have symptoms but can cause inflammation
AIDS
Attacks immune system. Causes rash, fever, and swollity.
HPV
common sexuality infection that can be prevented by vaccine. causes genital warts and cancers
PID
Pelvic inflammatory disease that effects women reproductive system. Causes pain in abdomen, fever
