4 or 5 desks where all desks see each other

Not good for quizzes or tests, may lead to cheating
Not in accordance with direct instruction
5-Desk Rows
The traditional arrangement in which desks are lined up in columns
Perfect for test taking arrangement
Direct instruction
Those sitting in the back and corner desks interact less
Takes time getting into groups
1-Table Rows
Good for group work and large group projects
Teacher can not see all the students so bad for testing
Tables are perpendicular to the front and back
Collaborative learning
3-Pairs
Adult run and collaborative learning
The teacher can walk around the classroom and monitor all the students easily during the test
It is easy to see the instructional aids
It doesn't allow for much class discussion
4-Semi-Circles
Desks in a semi-circular shape to see the front of the classroom
Teachers and students see each other easily
Direct instruction and collaborative learning
Some activities cannot be done because it takes up a lot of space
