Methods
Land use survey: RICEPOTS
Every 200m look at land uses
Every 20 paces we looked at the land uses around us and recorded them to survey123
Clear and easy to do, helped us understand land uses
Might miss parts of Kingston and might have multiple uses
Environmental Quality Assessment( EQA)
Answered questions on environmental quality
On survey123 we answered questions on the environmental quality of Kingston eg pollution
Categorises it and covers a variety of factors, easy to present data
Don’t have a very wide range of data, peoples opinions, it is qualitative data and the data wasn’t systematic enough, random
Questionaire interviews
Asked 10 people their views on Kingston
Asked 10 people a few questions with how Kingston has changed over time
Learn more about urbanisation and rural to urban aspects of Kingston
Some people didn’t answer and turned away, low reliability, only did 10, only primary data collection
Pedestrian count
At 11:00 and 1:00 for 2 minutes
At these times we stoood at different locations and counted how many people walked past us.
Quantifiable, clearly see and quick and easy and simple
Miss count and not very accurate, only doing it twice, not very far appart
Photographs
Photos were taken on every survey
Used to back up data snd show examples
Look at how things have changed
Photographs could be outdated and old

Location
Kingston-Upon-Thames, south west London, East of England
safe, not too busy, near school, accessible size and pedestrianised
How did you use GIS?
We used GIS By writing in our data into each category and adding photos for more information. Survey123 allowed us to pick the correct answer that was appropriate for each sub topic eg questionaire.
Shows information on a map and shows where land uses were
Geolocates saves the location
Presenting Data: pie charts, graphs, ARC, proportional circles for different sizes for pedestrian count, dot map for land uses, heat map/cloud for EQA, word clouds for questionaires
